Well I had a beautiful day of riding from Wyoming through Colorado and then ending up in Utah, although the temps ranged from 52 to 102, and there were some brief afternoon rain storms and high winds. All in all a great day, and good start to the Big Ride. I set up camp in about 30 minutes, and relished the Rice and Chicken dinner that Amy secured for me (I have about 20 “just add boiling water and eat” meals, and if tonight was any indication, those will work wonderfully!)
Thankfully, it’s cooling down a bit tonight, and I’m hoping to get camp torn down quickly in the morning. I thought a lot today about my life verse of Colossians 3:12-17, and in reviewing those verses tonight, also was drawn to Chapter 1: 15-23 where Paul reinforces the supremacy of Christ in all things. I had two brief encounters with strangers today at gas stations and also a Military Cemetery in Grand Junction where a Patriot Guard Mission was going on. I hope to be able to slow the pace a bit in coming days and look for opportunities to witness, but in the meantime I’m enjoying the beauty of God’s handiwork as I ride down the road.
I’m having issues with getting pictures from today to upload, so will try to add those tomorrow…
Steve.
